After 30 weeks of being on the BSLA program, Elijah has reached the Rakau reading level which is the top one for his Year 2 level. He has been working hard to learn new words to add to his vocabulary.
This book was called “We Belong” and is about a new student who arrives at a school, and how he is made to feel welcome by his teacher and his new peers. The children practiced writing words with an -ing ending and then talked about how they would help a new student in the classroom and why? They had empathy with this situation and could relate to the main ideas of the story.
Elijah has been working really hard and has completed the Addition grid in under 6 seconds on Xtra Maths.
Great effort, well done from Mrs Carter.

Last Friday Team 2 walked down to the Dunkirk playground for some fun at the park and a picnic morning tea. Elijah enjoyed climbing, sliding and swinging on the flying fox!

Elijah enjoyed taking part in the junior athletics day events. He tried his best in the boys running race. Check out his story…!

Elijah has been learning the different ending sounds of -air, ear and ere in these words from the book Tina Visits.

Elijah enjoyed riding on the bus to Sylvia Park to watch the Manaiakalani Film Festival movies at Hoyts theatre.
I wonder what movie he liked the best?

Eijah has been learning how to write words with the blend “ir” in them. Here are a list of words found in the book called Nat’s First game. Great work from Mrs Carter.
